Beto O'Rourke

DAVID SIDERS, Politico.com, 03/12/2019

Beto O’Rourke isn’t just headed to Iowa for a one-off campaign appearance with a state Senate candidate. He is planning a multiday trip with multiple appearances in the first-in-the-nation caucus state, two Democrats familiar with his plans told POLITICO on Tuesday.  O’Rourke’s advisers had confirmed Monday that he would appear at a rally in Waterloo, Iowa, on Saturday for Eric Giddens, a candidate in a March 19 special election.  But two sources said O’Rourke is building more days and appearances into his trip as he prepares for an all-but-certain presidential campaign.

To defeat Donald Trump, we need a candidate who can unite the majority of us — Democrats, independents and […]

Kirsten Gillibrand will take a tour next week through the Eastern Iowa counties that gave her predecessor in the Senate so many difficulties in the 2016 presidential campaign. The planned trip for next Tuesday and Wednesday takes Gillibrand along the Mississippi River, hitting Dubuque, Davenport, Muscatine, and Burlington. She makes a stop in Ottumwa before coming back to Des Moines for a town hall forum. Gillibrand will be the first Democratic candidate to visit the cities of Muscatine and Burlington this year (a few others visited them in 2018).
